This message is so timely!!! I’m a hospital chaplain… just today I was speaking to a widow who is troubled by the fact that her husband committed suicide. She wants to know whether he’ll be going to hell, because it’s a “mortal sin”. I told her “not necessarily” we aren’t saved by any righteous actions of our own – only by believing in Christ – and we can’t lose our salvation for particular sins, only for specifically rejecting Christ. And lo and behold, here’s this cartoon waiting in my email with pretty much the same message!!
You can bet I’m going to show it to her so she’ll know it’s not just me saying things that are comforting… it’s solid, Biblical teaching shared by mainline Christianity.
I think you know already that your ministry of cartooning is a calling from God… but just in case you have any doubt, this is confirmation.
