2005-12-20 — We know that this reading from Philippians isn't any of the assigned readings for Christmas, but nothing says "Incarnation" like Philippians 2:5-11.
BIBLE PASSAGE — Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus,
who, though he was in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God
as something to be exploited,
but emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
being born in human likeness.
And being found in human form,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to the point of death,
even death on a cross.
Therefore God also highly exalted him
and gave him the name
that is above every name,
so that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bend,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue should confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father. — Nativity of Our Lord
Type in a subject or a bible reference, like John 7:1-4 or simply Matthew 3.
Dear James Wetzstein,
Our pastor has been using your cartoons each week on the final page of the worship bulletin. I’m hooked. Therefore, I am using your Philippians 2:5-11 for my Christmas newsletter to family and friends 2008…. including “Agnus Day appears w the permission of www. agnusday.org.”
Thank you for blessisng our funny bones as well as our souls!
